How Early Should a Child’s First Visit to the Local Eye Care Center Be

Proper eye care is important, that much everyone is aware of. However, the bigger concern (especially for new parents) is when a child should see an eye doctor. According to experts, if the child has a family history of early eye problems, then they should be taken for an eye exam as early as two years old, with or without noticeable problems. It is impossible for children this young to determine for themselves if their eyesight is good, so it is up to the parents to get the job done. However, if the child shows signs of crossing or drifting of the eyes, then they should be taken to a specialist as soon as possible to identify if there are any problems.
